The parish of St. Clement in Angono, Rizal was officially established in 1933, but records of a visita, chapel or even a church building in the town or area of Angono go as far back as 1571, when Angono was first mentioned in Fray Gaspar San Andres “Conquistas delas Islas Filipinas”.

THE BOTONG FRANCISCO MUSEUM AND STREET MURALS

The Botong Francisco Museum & Street Murals is just 10 minutes away from Blanco Art Family Museum. Botong (Carlos Modesto Villaluz Francisco) was one of the greatest Filipino visual artists and muralists. He was a most distinguished practitioner of mural painting for many decades and best known for his historical pieces. His great works include Blood Compact, First Mass at Limasawa, The Martyrdom of Rizal, Bayanihan, Magpupukot, Fiesta, Bayanihan sa Bukid, Sandugo, Portrait of Purita, The Invasion of Limahong, Serenade, and Muslim Betrothal. Most of the murals are representations of rural life, seen along Dona Aurora Street of Brgy. Poblacion Itaas, Angono, Rizal.

Along the Mural Street of Angono, tourist will be amazed on how an ordinary street was transformed to become attractive and historic. This is due to the creativity within the artistic sculptures on the walls and houses. Truly, breathtaking beauty and art will greet travelers and visitors of Angono’s treasured street.

THE BLANCO FAMILY ART MUSEUM

The Blanco Art Family Museum is situated and located at #321 Ibanez Street Angono, Rizal. The Museum was founded by the renowned artist Jose “Pitok” U. Blanco. He was born on March 19, 1932 in Angono, Rizal. He was married to Loreta Patario Perez also from Angono and gifted with seven children namely Glenn, Noel, Michael, Joy, John, Kaye and Peter Paul who inherited the skills their father have. Even his grandchildren are reared and exposed to painting.

The Museum is also divided into several sections according to the name of the artists and their artworks.

An interesting story about the Blancos is that all members of the family are well-known artists even during their childhood days.

It is really amazing to visit the Blanco family Museum. Anyone will be astounded by creativity of their paintings and art pieces.
